The company are leading the way in the design and manufacture of high power electrical resistors, and they are currently looking to expand within the automotive sector. They have a turnover exceeding £10 million and 90+ employees.

You will be responsible for ensuring the company's portfolio of products is fit for purpose, and meets internal and external requirements. You will have numerous direct reports, including test engineers, quality engineers and a HSE officer. You will also maintain all relevant accreditations (ISO 9001 and 45001). Aswell as managing the Quality function, you will also lead on Environmental matters, including compliance and auditing.

The role:

• Implement the procedures outlined in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance
• Ensure the business is compliant with environmental and sustainability legislation and standards
• Manage environmental audits
• Ensure processes are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of the company and external certification bodies
• Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate
• Make sure production processes meet required standards
• Look to implement a culture of continuous improvement
• Maintain ISO45001 and ISO9001
• Lead lean development
• Manage suppliers KPIs

The person:

• Quality Manager or similar, with experience managing environmental factors
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP and FMEA
• Ideally Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing Principles
• Background in Manufacturing
