Scantec Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading, global FMCG Packaging manufacturer near Newcastle, to assist in recruiting a Quality Inspector / Assistant for their growing Technical team. This is a new role into their Quality structure to support growth and investment.
Job Scope:
Your role of Quality Inspector will be to support the Quality Engineer to improve customer satisfaction. Reduce cost of non quality, manage/ maintain quality system & procedure. Working closely with customers and internal functions to achieve continuous improvement.
Hours / Shifts:
Rotating: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am

Quality Assistant / Inspector - Main duties:
- Perform end of line static inspection ensuring Product Quality
- Communicate with internal customers to agree concession use of material
- Work closely with Operation to support Process Improvement activity, data analysis and project management (Leaders and Teams).
- Customer complaints support resolution and elimination using PDCA methods.
- FMEA – Support reduction in risks and waste, and continual improvements that will impact on QCD (spoilage and downtime reduction, efficiency improvement)
- Eye of the Customer – support audits to continuously improve operating standards and environment (BRC, Visual management, Pride in workplace)
- QMS support maintenance of Quality system and procedures ensuring accurate reflection of our processes and adherence to standard.
- Train and support internal staff to ensure adherence to Quality systems and procedures.
Required skills & Experience required:
We’re seeking an experienced Quality Assistant / Inspector who has excellent communication skills and a detailed, methodical approach to work. We ideally need somebody who has experience of dealing with customer complaints and a good knowledge of ISO 9001:2000 and BRC standards.
