About Our Client
Michael Page Engineering & Manufacturing are working exclusively with a highly successful Leeds based manufacturer who supply an exceptional range of engineered products to a large customer base, both across the UK and internationally. Having experienced impressive growth in recent years, they are now looking to expand their manufacturing leadership team to accommodate the increase in production requirements.
Job Description
The Quality Manager will report directly into the Operations Director and the board, whilst having overall accountability for all quality activities on site.The main priorities of this role are:
- Improving existing quality processes and procedures to ensure they are fit for purpose, bearing in mind the business growth
- Managing engineering change management throughout the business
- Not just raising NCRs but working alongside the team to resolve these and put proactive measures in place to prevent them from happening again
- Being involved at the product creation and design phase, through prototyping, production and delivery to ensure that specifications are realistic and achieved
- Changing behaviours towards quality and influencing colleagues and peers
The Successful Applicant
Successful candidates will have a strong manufacturing background and a proven ability in improving quality. You will also possess:
- Sound knowledge of quality tools and techniques (including FMEA, APQP, PPAP, albeit knowledge of these specific tools is not essential)
- A data-driven and continuous improvement mindset, with an understanding of lean principles
- An innovative and customer focussed approach
- The ability to influence behaviours as well as update procedures
