Role Description
This is a full-time Quality Technician position in Milton Keynes, within a limited area of production, is responsible for inspection and test of incoming materials, work in process, and finished goods to establish material quality and lot acceptance to specifications, along with operating relevant test equipment and input of related data into quality system databases and the generation of required reports. This includes but is not limited to carrying out quality auditing, quality assurance, and quality management tasks and analyzing data to identify areas of improvement in the production process.
Qualifications
- Analytical skills and experience with quality control.
- Science/Engineering to at least A level / HNC / HND standard.
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
- Ability to work with math and statistical equations.
- Ability to analyse data and identify areas for improvement.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, Flexible attitude.
- Experience in quality auditing, quality assurance, and quality management.
- Ability to work independently or in a team, as needed to meet goals.
- Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO9001/14001, IATF16949.
- Knowledge of SPC, PPAP, data analysis.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
Key Duties:
• Perform a variety of testing required for acceptance of incoming raw materials and manufactured materials in a timely manner.
• Support company facilities with quality testing and controlling processes and manufactured products.
• Laboratory tests on final products (e.g. viscosity, metal %, solder ball)
• Enter data into quality system databases to document and maintain test, inspection & calibration records.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment to prevent contamination possibilities.
• Partner with technical support, manufacturing, quality engineers, as well as operations staff, to meet objectives.
• Inspecting finished product and authorising it to be released to customers.
• Monitor and maintain quality metrics.
• Complying to strict health and safety procedures
• Production of certificates of analysis
• Statistical process control to aid batch to batch consistency.
• Monitor and maintain measurement lab equipment.
Other Duties:
• Update standard operating procedures.
• QC tests on raw materials and other products e.g. viscosity.
• Participate in problem solving activities using 5W’s ,8D, Fishbone etc.
• Calibrate equipment.
• Support for customer complaints as required.
• Support for health, safety and environmental work as required.
Working hours:
Monday-Thursday: from 7:30am to 4:30pm - unpaid break of 45 minutes
Friday: from 7:30am to 3:15pm - unpaid break of 45 minutes
