Quantitative Developer Architect

As a Barclays Quantitative Developer (Architect), you will own the development standard for QA Markets and drive the efficiency and simplification of the technological landscape within QA Markets. You will also perform a design oversight on analytic libraries, their roles and responsibilities and how they interact together. You will be part of one specific initiative being the Analytic Service which is a major redesign of the APIs and the way the analytic libraries are being delivered to IT systems or Front Office clients.

What will you be doing?
• Being responsible for driving the development of the Analytic Service, organizing the library, enforcing adherence to strategic vision
• Assisting other QA/IT teams in the evolution of their existing libraries, applications or platforms to better integrate with this new layer
• Partnering with Front Office and Technology on the evolution of our technology stack - ranging from desktop usage to larger platforms (end of day)
• Playing a pivotal role with other Quant Teams in simplifying the technological landscape and reducing its overall cost on QA Markets
• Working with Technology partners to execute the technological shift to improve the time to market new functionality and reduce the overall cost of our technology stack
• Collaborating with our traders to provide them with tools that will enable innovation and better run their business or manage their exposures
What we're looking for:
• A technical background and understanding of business processes allowing solution implementation and improve efficiency of QA Markets deliveries to the business
• Given some autonomy the candidate should be an effective communicator to get the buy-in of stakeholders in adopting the technological transformations
• Degree in Mathematics/Computer Science or related field and experience with (Windows/Linux, C++/Python), and development of a quantitative analytic library
• Knowledge and understanding of modern technologies for hosting web applications: docker/kubernetes, Jupyter notebooks, React, REST, Dask, etc
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience working with cloud, and/or HPC technologies
• Project management and leadership skills
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills (e.g., statistics, probability theory, numerical methods, stochastic calculus)
• Wide understanding of the business process and good written and verbal communication
