We Build Recruitment are on the lookout for a Quantity Surveyor based in or around Sawbridgeworth to join a steady but continually growing roofing company who specialise in both felt and flat roofing.
Projects are generally either residential or commercial and are often in Greater London with other projects in wider areas such as Essex, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. This role however will largely be office based with the very infrequent site visit required.
The salary is negotiable and entirely dependant on experience. They’re open to anyone between £40-£60,000 however should you be looking for a little bit more, they’d still be open to a conversation. This will also have a car allowance on top with a performance based bonus too.
In terms of experience, ideally they’re looking for someone with complete experience already in roofing, however are willing to speak with people that are closer to an assistant but looking to make a jump up.
Job Role:
- Manage projects through the entire project lifecycle.
- Prepare estimates, cost plans and tender documentation using various forms of measurement and contracts.
- Be comfortable measuring schedules of works and bills of quantities/activity schedule production.
- Manage and prepare both tender and contract documentation.
- Support and input into procurement and tendering processes and evaluation/award of contracts.
- Attend client and progress meetings and provide input and support to the project.
- Price and prepare financial reports and cashflow forecasts throughout the duration of contracts and provide general post contract cost management and control.
- Provide input into the financial aspects of change management.
- Carry out re-measurement of quantities with contractors if necessary and prepare and agree final accounts and claims. Prepare final accounts for clients that are suitable for audit.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Preferable experience with roofing projects
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong time management skills to ensure you meet agreed deadlines
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite
