Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of our projects, providing accurate cost assessments, and maintaining effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, and other relevant factors.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and remain within agreed-upon limits.
- Tendering: Coordinate the tendering process, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks and variations in project scope, providing proactive solutions to mitigate financial impact.
- Quantity Takeoff: Conduct comprehensive quantity takeoffs to determine the quantities of materials required for each project.
- Financial Reporting: Generate regular financial reports, including cash flow projections, cost reports, and variance analysis.
- Client Collaboration: Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in insurance restoration, commercial refurbishment, and Domestic maintenance projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction costs, materials, and techniques.
- Proficiency in relevant software, such as CostX or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
