Your new role:
We are looking for an Early Years and Childcare Improvement Manager to join the Early years & childcare service in a full time and permanent contract. This role is offered on a hybrid working pattern; a blendof working from home, at the office and visits to educational settings and partner agencies.

As an Early Years and Childcare Improvement Manager, you will provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of early learning across the maintained and private, voluntary and independent sectors, ensuring high quality teaching. You will also provide expert, responsive information, advice, guidance and support to all providers on the EYFS curriculum, 7 areas of learning, planning, assessment, leadership and management to ensure highly effective pedagogy.

As an Early Years and Childcare Improvement Manager, you will coordinate and lead forums and leaders and mangers meetings, including for EYFS leads in schools. You will have line management responsibility for staff in the Early Years Childcare and Improvement team, inspiring staff with a ‘quality’ approach towards everything they do and a philosophy of ‘continuous improvement’.

To meet the demands of this role,
occasional evening and Saturday working is required.
What you'll need to succeed:
To be successful in this role, you will need to be educated to degree level in an appropriate field and possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

It is essential that you have an in-depth Knowledge of the EYFS, characteristics of effective learning and the Ofsted cycle and framework Thorough knowledge of observation, tracking and assessment systems, against national expectations. Experience of delivering evidence-based approaches to achieve improved outcomes for the most vulnerable children within EY provision is essential for the role. It is crucial that you have knowledge of key national education and Early Years policy, Legislation, guidance and new initiatives.

You will be out and about on visits in the borough, so a full and clean driving license is essential.
