Radio Coverage Specialist working with a large telecoms company for an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £500 per day (inside IR35). This will be a Hybrid split: 3 days on site at the London office.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as a technical expert, working with other teams across the business and with other companies, and providing technical support and guidance to other team members.
- Develop and continually improve processes and methodologies used within the team.
- Clearly present the results of analysis to support senior management in strategic decision making.
- Providing coverage impact assessment analysis using ATOLL planning tools.
- Supporting Internal customer queries in regards of coverage assessment for both strategic programs, business opportunities or specific single queries.
- Supporting the delivery of different programs such as Air-To-Ground.
- Reporting on the coverage improvements within the Network for all technologies (2G, 4G, 5G).
- Providing the client with our planning Data on a regular basis.
- Supporting the business with new coverage opportunity evaluation.
- Actual and forecasted Coverage Reporting across multiple technologies.
- Governance around Coverage guideline and Radio emission compliance.
Required Skills
- Understanding of the complex interaction between coverage and capacity in the mobile radio access network.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of coverage management techniques and best practice.
- Experience of analysis and clearly presenting findings in writing and in person.
- Developing new processes and methodologies and implementing them within the area of responsibility.
- Understanding of issues and blockers of performing the job and providing improvement plans/solutions.
- Automation mindset to reduce time to deliver.
Required Experience
- More than 5 years' experience in the radio planning space.
- Experience in planning small cells.
- Strong experience of using tools for radio planning analysis such as ATOLL with particular focus on Automatic Cell Planning module.
- Experience in using visualisation tools such as QGIS or ARCGIS for more complex data elaboration.
- Good experience of mobile Radio antenna configurations.
- Experience with coding such as Python language or similar and GIS data analysis skills.
- Experience in PCI/RSI planning.
- Experience with Radio network compliance (ICNIRP, GA drawings).
- Experience with Coverage modelling for all technologies 2G/3G/4G/5G.
Experience with propagation model ITU-528 -3.
