We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Locum Radiology Department Assistant to join our friendly team at Royal Marsden Hospital. Working through Medacs Healthcare you'll play a vital role in providing timely and high-quality diagnostic services to a diverse range of patients within their busy department.
Key Skills
In addition to your qualifications, you will need:
- Previous Hospital experience
- Radiology experience desirable
- Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures
- Computer Literacy
- Previous experience in similar/same role desirable
Main Duties/Responsibilities
As a temporary Radiology Department Assistant, you will:
- Act as a chaperone and assist during ultrasound procedures.
- Competent to use IT systems which includes EPIC - DHR (Digital Health record) and Radiology Information Systems.
- Have good communications skills to discuss a general scanning list with the sonographer/Radiologists.
- Assist during imaged guided biopsies and follow infection control processes.
- Complete the daily checks for each room, including stock checks.
- To perform and record basic patient observations - BP, pulse, temp, height, weight, when required.
- Ideally, insert IV cannulas.
Requirements: Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications
- GCSE (Grade 4 - 9) in English and Mathematics or Functional Skills level 2 pass in English and Mathematics or equivalent recognised qualification
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (e.g. University Certificate of Competence in Principles of Children & Young People Healthcare, advanced diploma, Higher apprenticeship Level 3) or Healthcare Support Worker Level 2
- Care Certificate
- Willingness to develop and undertake in-house study
