We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Radiotherapy Practitioner to join our Radiotherapy team on a fixed term basis. Based at The Duchess of Devonshire Wing (Cancer Centre) W1G 6JA, with a competitive salary range of £42,756- £52,248 on offer, dependant on skills and experience.

The Duchess of Devonshire Wing is The London Clinic’s dedicated award-winning cancer centre, which includes state-of-the-art radiotherapy, and chemotherapy suites as well as 47 dedicated patient bedrooms for Oncology & Haematology patients. With the latest advances in surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and immunotherapy, our expert consultants work closely with nursing teams to look after patients throughout their journey. We treat an extensive range of cancers, from breast cancer to rare tumours such as thymoma, and our purpose-built haematology unit is equipped to provide hemotherapy, immunotherapy and both autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplants.


The London Clinic radiotherapy department uses the world’s most up-to-date technology to provide the most advanced treatments possible for our patients. The radiotherapy equipment includes GE CT scanner, the CyberKnife® robotic radiosurgery system, and two Varian True Beam Linacs.


Job Profile


As Radiotherapy Practitioneryou will support the radiotherapy service through the clinical and technical delivery of all radiotherapy tasks from referral to follow up. This will include pre-treatment , treatment delivery and patient assessment, management and care to ensure the highest standards of treatment and care at all times.


  • Job Type: This is a full-time, 12-month fixed term contract, working 37.5 hours per week.

  • Salary: The attractive salary range for this role is £42,756 - £52,248 (inclusive), and will be dependent upon skills and experience.

  • Shifts: 4 days per week between Monday -Friday

Key Duties

  • Implement safe and accurate high-energy radiotherapy treatment to cancer patients adhering to radiotherapy protocols and procedures
  • Provide a continuum of care requiring complex technical skills in localisation, planning and dosimetry, technique development, verification and management of treatment processes.
  • Quality assurance and control tasks as required insuring high-quality patient treatments and care.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team providing a high-quality radiotherapy service

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in all aspects of radiotherapy.
  • Relevant practical experience of a wide range of radiotherapy equipment, technique and practice including modern practice during training e.g. IMRT, IGRT and / or respiratory gating.
  • DCR (T) or BSc Radiotherapy
  • Registration with HCPC
