Role Purpose
Reporting to the Ramp Operations Manager, the job is responsible for the business interests and day-to-day shift operational performance of the Ramp at the LHR Airport. The role requires a strong leader with proven managerial skills.
What you will be doing
- Responsible for assisting the Ramp Operation Managers in the day-to-day operational performance,safety, security and customer satisfaction of the product through effective support and management of the team.
- Ensuring safety and security procedures are according to standards set within the Menzies Health & Safety Policy Manual, and according to international aviation standards.
- Promote and actively encourage just culture and ensure the accurate reporting of all accidents and incidents incurred whilst on shift, and entered into MORSE and ensure closure in a timely manner.
- Oversee and ensure an effective communication system is in place to notify relevant staff of required information.
- Ensure there is a robust equipment defect reporting system in place. Proveo daily checks and daily TCR status updates.
- Check and monitor daily vehicle checks.Ensure that all staff fully understand that safety is the number one priority for the company.

What we are looking for
- Substantial operational management/supervisory experience.
- Experience and knowledge of aviation services, in particular ramp handling operations.
- Ability to communicate successfully at all levels, whilst leading and motivating a growing workforce.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills along with strong communications skills and experience in liaising with senior airline, airport, and other stakeholder personnel.
- Good knowledge of GSE. and aptitude to develop the departmental management team, succession planning, and re-engineer business processes as demanded by changes in the business.
- Developed communication and diplomacy skills used to direct/persuade/influence others
