What is the opportunity?

We are looking for a financial specialist investment money manager to join our RBC BlueBay Asset ManagementGlobal Equity team. This role will be based in London. You will need extensive knowledge of stock selection with an emphasis on fundamental analysis of the financials sector. Working alongside the Senior Portfolio Manager you will assist in the management of various equity portfolios. You will undertake company research and make recommendations for the financials holdings of the portfolio consistent with, and complementary to, the teams investment process and strategy. You will work with the wider team to achieve strong investment performance relative to both its peers and to its various benchmark whilst helping to maintain a high and extensive standard of portfolio analysis, data and information.

What will you do?

  • Be part of a team that manages various equity portfolios. The performance of these funds is measured against appropriate indices and peer groups
  • Undertake stock research on financials across various markets. The research is to be conducted in a manner consistent with the philosophy, process and standards of the team and firm
  • Liaise with investment teams in other offices of RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM)
  • Work on the continuing formation and implementation of RBC GAM's investment process. This encompasses a range of duties including report writing, responding to corporate actions, and providing cover for the other fund managers
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of RBC GAM investment products and services, including thorough familiarity with the groups investment policies, philosophy and strategies.
  • Build a good knowledge of regional and local financial markets and economic disciplines, gaining familiarity with a broad range of economic and sectoral issues
  • Leverage the value in unit, department, and enterprise wide teams to develop better solutions and achieve a cross enterprise mindset
  • Accept and successfully execute change while supporting employees through the process, and keeping them focused on business priorities

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Previous investment management experience covering Financials is essential
  • Able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of banking, insurance and other financial businesses
  • University degree or equivalent Associate of UK society of Investment Professionals (ASIP)
  • Experience of using quantitative and qualitative factors in the investment process
  • CFA or equivalent or working towards CFA

Nice to have:

  • Experience as a Portfolio Manager
  • MBA
