R&D Chemist / Senior R&D Chemist

A leading chemicals manufacturer at the forefront of innovation within their field are looking to recruit an R&D Chemist and a Senior R&D Chemist for their Lancashire based team.

Working with some of the worlds experts in their field, the successful applicant will join a collaborative and high performing team.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop new and innovative formulations to enhance product performance and remain ahead of competitor products
• Research new technologies and materials
• Develop skills in and carry out analysis and characterisation of raw materials, in process and finished products
• Provide all information required for product launch, including formulation details, manufacturing process, specification, technical performance data, tox and ecotox data.
• Actively seek opportunities for personal development and acquisition of new skills.
• Contribute new ideas for consideration as future R&D projects

Skills, experience and qualifications:

• Minimum of a BSc in Chemistry, formulation science or related subject
• Minimum of 1 years experience for chemist or 4-5 years for senior chemist in water based systems using surfactants, solvents and polymers
• Experience in formulating in cosmetics, personal care, household chemicals, surfactants, water based polymer systems, inks or water based paints
• To hold a sound Chemistry background with a good knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
• Organisation, accuracy and attention to detail are essential
