The Role
We re excited to announce we are recruiting for a R&D Manager, reporting to the Head of R&D. You will be a highly motivated multi-tasker, have great attention to detail, an excellent communicator and have the ability to react to any crisis quickly, efficiently and professionally.
In this role you will get to work closely with our site and customers in all aspects of bringing new products to market from the initial concept right through to product launch.
You will be the key customer contact for all enquiries concerning the products you re working on, keeping them informed of any outcomes and making sure that all their needs are met.
The role is responsible for the overall NPD customer strategy whilst working in collaboration with the category and insight teams to create and drive our innovation pipeine across multiple categories. You will help shape the future of our business and drive the food agenda.
You will also be responsible for driving the management of projects and critical paths which lead to successful product launches underpinned with consumer and commercial understanding.

Responsibilities
- To work closely with the Head of R&D, R&D Chefs & Customer Teams to determine customer orientated and commercially viable NPD activity in response to customer briefs and innovation.
- Main point of contact for customer development teams from innovation through to concept development.
- Accountable alongside the Head of R&D for communicating customer strategy and activation plans: detailing clear cost targets, promotional mechanics, quality tiering and operational efficiency.
- Work in collaboration with the Natural Work Team to deliver against joint business plans and ensure commercially focused product development to grow the Pilgrim s business
- Identify product improvements to products to continually improve on-line reviews & customer complaints
- Organize innovation sessions internally and customer-facing, working in collaboration with the category team to bring customer and market focus to all NPD
- Scoping and assessing the viability of new opportunities and during the gate 0 call contribute towards the Go or No Go decision.
