Job Title: R&D scientist
Location: Cambridge, GBR, CB216GS
Duration: 1 year contact
Description:
We require a scientist to contribute to the execution of cell line construction activities within the Expression R&D team in Cambridge.
Core responsibilities include:
•Contribution to the delivery of new and/or improved CHO-based host cell lines and expression vectors for the production of complex therapeutic proteins
•Operation and improvement of automation equipment and workflows such as for the ambr15 and clone screening
•Mammalian cell culture - routine and fed-batch formats e.g., static, suspension cell and bioreactor (ambr15) culture
•Supporting the generation of new cell lines from plasmid generation to clonal cell line assessment
•Work closely with multiple R&D teams R&D to deliver solutions or improvements in recombinant protein manufacturing.
•Prepare presentations and data sets to effectively communicate results, progress and plans to project teams
•Maintain accurate and timely records to appropriate quality standards
•Actively keep aware of relevant academic literature
•Contribute ideas and opinions to scientific discussions to aid the development of new technologies
•80% lab based role using experience and knowledge
•Occasional weekend work required depending on experiments
Education-Required: BSc
Language: English
Work Experience: Cell culture and molecular biology. Experience with automated equipment that would also be helpful.
