Job description

Job Purpose:

The primary purpose of the role is the delivery of financial income from the multi-million pound Rebate and Contributions (R&Cs) Programme. Our client operates R&C deals with hundreds of suppliers and uses a modern dedicated Rebate Management software solution

The role would suit an individual with a highly experienced background as a buyer or within procurement, with significant experience of R&C programmes and a keen passion for problem-solving & analysis. The individual will ideally have advanced Microsoft Excel skills, experience with PowerPoint and be looking for a commercially focused role in a high performing commercial team. This is a role where you can have a real and long-term positive impact on the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy: Support the Commercial Team in the development and maintenance of the Retail R&C Programme, identifying opportunities to optimise earnings and develop new earning streams. Support wider cost reduction strategy and business plans in line with group strategy, financial and ESG objectives.

Commercial Insight: Support the development and maintenance of appropriate value chain tools and buyer processes, providing commercial insight as a key advisory role to the buying team. Establish capability to identify and deliver commercial opportunities through:

Trading Terms management & governance.

Operations management of class-leading software to manage the multi-million Rebate & Contribution programme

  • 'Deal' History.
  • Cost modelling/Value Chain Mapping.
  • Systems & Process: Working cross-functionally, support the translation of moderate to complex business needs into required deliverables, including:
  • Become the go-to expert in exploiting the Rebate Management Software to support delivery of the R&C Programme deliverables.
  • Data discovery, data mining and deriving insights from analysis of data.
  • Understand, maintain and promote usage of our suite of Rebate Management & Commodity Costs reporting tools and other software tools, used both within and outside of the department.
  • KPI's and reporting: Develop reports, dashboards, and other Analytics deliverables using Excel and other tools to meet commercial needs. Participate in maintaining and improving Analytics reports, development practices, standards, procedures and controls.
  • Ensure the audit governance of R&Cs is achieved and maintained through regular and timely reporting of key metrics about T&C's and Rebate agreements
  • Develop & Manage: Responsible for managing and developing one direct report. Help this colleague through their development with defining stretching but achievable goals, managing their performance and helping them on their journey of continuous improvement and personal growth.

Key Skills/Experience

  • Ability to bring insight to Management Information to create strong negotiation scenarios for those in the Buying teams.
  • Significant experience with design, implementation and management of Retrospective Rebate and Contribution programmes with GFR Suppliers.
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills.
  • Advanced Excel and strong PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and meetings to support in the training of others.
  • Reporting and analysis skills
  • Able to add value and create credibility with the wider team.
