Reception & Administration (Saturdays)

Primary Activities & Responsibilities:

Reception:

• Managing the access of pupils and parents to the premises, dealing with any concerns or questions, and ensuring that all students are in the right place at the right time.
• Making every effort to greet students and family members by name on arrival at the studio, making them feel as welcome as possible, and conversing with them about their lessons.
• Taking lesson bookings and assisting with the administration of the teaching timetable.
• Taking receipt and logging payments, and issuing invoices and receipts as required.
• Making clear handover notes each day to ensure continuity and adequate communication between The Rhythm Studio's administration team.
• Ensuring that teachers are accurate with their timekeeping and that lessons take place at the time scheduled.
• On arrival, checking that studios are tidy and vacated by any sixth form students ahead of the evening teaching shift. At the end of the evening, checking that amps and PA systems are powered down, guitars and cables are returned to the store room, and that lights are turned off.
• Shutting down the office computer, checking that the office is left neat and tidy and locking the office and studio areas at the end of each shift.
• Initiating regular communication with pupils and parents to get feedback about their experiences of learning with The Rhythm Studio, and finding out any areas in which we can improve.
• Helping to share studio news with parents and students, including opportunities to join classes or bands, take part in holiday camps, and attend school events or The Rhythm Studio Foundation fundraisers.
• Assisting with the organisation of school events, including liaising with teachers regarding the schedule of performers at student concerts, and promoting the event amongst students, their families and the wider public.
