We have an opportunity available for a Receptionist to join our team based in Northwich. The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis, term time only. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of£20,756 - £21,135 per annum.

About the Receptionist role:

Student Services is at the heart of the College and the successful candidate will have an opportunity to work with every department in the College and have a direct influence on the experience of students at the College. The role will be an interesting mixture of front desk, telephone and administrative duties.

You will play an active role in the wider student services team to supporting admissions and covering reprographics services, examinations and student attendance.

Applicants should have experience of delivering high levels of customer service, have good IT skills and should be able to manage difficult and unexpected situations with patience, courtesy and diplomacy.

Ideally starting at the start of the new academic year on 22nd August 2024, the post is 37 hours per week, term time only plus 2 weeks in the College holidays. Some occasional evening and Saturday work will be required to support information and open events.

Your responsibilities as our Receptionist:

  • Welcoming and receiving visitors to the College, managing the signing in and out process and contact College staff, as appropriate
  • Operating the College's telephone switch-board to receive, acknowledge and transfer calls, take and transmit telephone messages as required
  • Preparing the post for posting, to include the maintenance of a posting log
  • Providing a "help-desk" for students and College staff
  • Helping with the preparation for and attend all open events, enrolment activities and other information events
  • Supporting the College’s admissions process from application to enrolment
  • As and when required providing wider support and cover to the Student Services department, to include reprographics, examinations and student attendance.
  • Implementing appropriate personal, technical and organisational measures to ensure that data processing is performed in accordance with the GDPR, and review and update those measures where necessary

What we’re looking for in our ideal Receptionist:

  • Experience of delivering high levels of customer service
  • Good IT skills including Word, Excel, Access and e-mail
  • The Ability to work on own initiative and as a member of a team
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to manage difficult and unexpected situations
