A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RECEPTIONIST AT BRIDGEWOOD MANOR HOTEL
What you'll be doing...
The position of Receptionist has become available at Bridgewood Manor. Reporting into the Reception Manager, you will be responsible for
- Ensuring each guest has a seamless check in and check out experience and stay with us.
- greeting and checking in guests in a polite manner, allocating rooms and handing over keys
- checking out guests, adding up their bills and taking their credit, debit card or cash payments
- maintaining clear and accurate records of guest room bookings
- answering questions about hotel facilities and about local transport, places of interest and entertainment
- listening and responding to guest queries and requests both in-person and by phone
- answering the phone, operating the switchboard and dealing with the email and mail
- liaising with necessary staff including housekeeping and maintenance to address any problems or complaints made by guests
The successful applicant for this role will deliver excellent customer service, have a positive ‘can do' attitude, be willing to learn and show that they care
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To succeed in the role of Receptionist, you will need the following qualities and skills.
- good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer software
- a proactive approach to resolving issues that arise
- have excellent personal presentation, listening skills, verbal and written communication
- have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service with a ‘can do’ attitude
- ability to handle cash, credit/debit cards and foreign currency
- a strong team player with the ability to multi-task prioritise work commitments
- ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude even under high pressure
- professional/confident telephone manner
- good sense of humour and an approachable personality
Experience working within a hotel reception team and with ResLinks would be beneficial but not essential.
