This role has a starting salary of £12,488.50 per annum, based on an 18-hour working week, pro-rata to £24,977. 

We are excited to be hiring a new Records Assistant to join our fantastic Children's Records Management Service. The role is based at Quadrant Court, Woking, Surrey, GU22 7QQ. This is a 24-month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity.

About the Team

Our Children's Records Management Service are responsible for the accurate archiving and retrieval of Children's Records. We are a small team, but sit within the wider Children's Information Governance Team, so has the feel of a larger team.

About the Role 

The Records Assistant performs a range of office duties to ensure that archive requests are dealt with efficiently and securely and the Directorate receives an effective and timely archive service. The Records Assistant will undertake manual handling and physically demanding work in order to carry out duties associated with the delivery and collection of files and boxes. You will work in a small team to undertake a variety of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the Records Management service.

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Experience of working in a busy office environment providing support to staff and the public
  • Competency in a range of IT tools including Word and Excel with experience of processing data via a computerised system
  • An ability to work under pressure to meet timescales
  • Minimum academic qualifications of 3 GCSE passes at Grade C or above or equivalent 
  • Experience of building relationships with colleagues and partners
  • Hold a UK driving license

You will be expected to maintain professional conduct in the working environment in accordance with the SCC Behaviour Framework.
