Job description

An opportunity is available for two Records Assistants within the Streetworks Team based at Swansea.

In this role you will provide clerical and administrative support services to National Grids Distribution business, reporting to the Records Team Manager.

You will need to have at least 4 GCSEs OR equivalent in order to apply. 

Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.

*Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant training is complete.

If you are offered a position, you will be required to successfully complete a basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.

Main Responsibilities
Issuing Street Works Notices & Permits
Dealing with Local Authorities regarding any aspect of Street Works
Dealing direct with Contractors both verbally and by written instruction
Dealing with all Street Works defects
Clearing invoices relating to Street Works Activities
Invoicing contractors relating to any Street Works Activity
Preparing monthly statistics
Providing any other information as may relate to Street Works
Representing the section at local HAUC meetings
Assisting I.R. with future system development needs – catering for TMA and permitting schemes
Assisting with training Network services on new legislation and system changes


Although this position is primarily based within the Streetworks Team, you may be required to assist in any of the other Records sections as required.
The Ideal CandidateYou should be customer focused, self motivated and have excellent verbal and written communication skills which will be required when dealing with both internal and external contacts. 

You must be reliable, well organised and be able to work as part of a small team, using your own initiative and representing the company positively at all times.
