Introduction
The House of Commons Resourcing team is responsible for managing approximately 800 campaigns each year, facilitating internal mobility such as secondments and redeployments and for completing all required pre-employment checks for new joiners, leading a positive candidate experience throughout.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Resourcing team who are responsible for delivering an excellent recruitment service to all teams within the House of Commons. The Recruitment Adviser is responsible for directly managing recruitment campaigns, providing advice and recommendations around the most appropriate recruitment strategies. With a strong focus on Diversity and Inclusion, they will work with the wider Resourcing team to identify strong attraction strategies, enabling the greatest reach to a wide pool of candidates.
Some of the responsibilities for this role include:
- Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on recruitment and selection processes, developing and maintaining knowledge of recruitment practices and the business to ensure that advice meets business need and best practice.
- Work with the Employer Brand Lead to identify and promote the use of a variety of advertising channels to support the attraction of a diverse pool of candidates.
- As part of the wider Resourcing team, contribute to the ongoing review and development of recruitment to optimise the hiring manager and candidate experience.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
Experience of providing comprehensive advice on recruitment and selection activities, including delivering an exceptional candidate experience, with an understanding of relevant legislation and current best practice.
Ability to develop recruitment strategies, recruit successfully to a high volume and complex range of internal and external vacancies
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with a broad range of people at different levels
