Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the UKs largest Law Enforcement organisation for a Recruitment and Retention Officer to join them at their offices based in Bow. The role provides a pivotal support function to the BAU activities in the Digital, Data and Technology Portfolios in the Recruitment and onboarding of resources within our strict governance framework.

The Recruitment and Retention Officer role is to provide support and coordination for the Digital, Data and Technology Portfolios in the Recruitment and onboarding of resources within their strict governance framework.

The details!

  • Working arrangements for role (Hybrid / Home / Office): Hybrid
  • How many days in Office required: 2-3, depending on business needs
  • Vetting Requirement offers will be subject to police vetting to gain CTC clearance.
  • Duration: 6 months

Knowledge

  • Ability to use ICT applications such as Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • An understanding of the use of folder and documentation storing / file sharing and creating pages on applications i.e., SharePoint and Box.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats, leveraging strong interpersonal skills.
  • Relationship management, influencing and facilitating skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a Customer Service/Public Sector organisation.
  • Previous exposure to working with or within an IT department.
  • Working in a recruitment environment with experience in all aspects of multiple campaigns

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the single point of contact for our Recruitment of Agency / Contractor resources via REED.
  • Review and check the submissions of Vacancy Management Authority Forms (VMAF) based against the spreadsheets and communcations from DDaT Staff.
  • Maintain the Recruitment Log spreadsheet to track the progress of New and extension VMAF requests.
  • Communication around DDaT Governance for all Agency / Contractor VMAF requests.
  • Liaise and inform DDaT Hiring Managers of progress at all stages of the recruitment process.
  • Offer guidance and support during the stages of Sifting and Interviewing of candidates.
  • When a candidate has been selected for the role update REED SPOC.
  • Liaise with REED and the DDaT Hiring Manager to ensure an efficient Onboarding process is actioned.
  • Coordinate the Onboarding process in consultation with REED.
  • Provide DDaT Onboarding / Welcome Pack to DDaT Hiring Manager.  
  • Manage any variations in process and changes in plans as necessary.
  • Raise, escalate and resolve risks and issues as required.
  • Update the Recruitment and Retention Manager on any issues that need to be addressed or escalated.
