We’re looking for a driven student recruitment professional to support key student recruitment activities for our Gen2 training organisation. As part of our recruitment team, you will support the planning and implementation of our events - including external exhibitions - and fairs at schools and colleges and other businesses, both across the region with potential of events further afield. This role also requires strong communications with employers to encourage the best recruitment service.

Gen2 was established in 2000 and specialises in the Engineering, Nuclear, and Manufacturing sectors. In May 2017 Gen2 joined City & Guilds. Gen2 currently operates from 5 training centres across Cumbria and over 150 employees, the vast majority of which are direct delivery staff. Through targeted development of commercial training Gen2 continues to grow its geographic and product portfolio. Gen2 has developed many higher level programmes to meet the needs of industry including the suite of nuclear related technology foundation degrees. The quality of teaching and learning is paramount, resulting in Gen2 success rates typically 20% above the national average.

With the Recruitment aspect being the bulk to this role another key part is supporting prospective and current students and you can expect to be amongst the first member of staff to be approached by learners and will be expected to provide an effective support service and involving other departments/services.

What you will be doing;

  • Coordinate and support the end-to-end learner recruitment process.
  • Liaising with employers regarding their apprentice recruitment requirements and providing a full recruitment service.
  • To help maintain a good relationship with candidates throughout the recruitment process, including carrying out one to one meetings to prepare them for interviews.
  • Coordinate and support the delivery of learner induction activities.
  • Providing and contributing to reports on activities within the department
  • To assist the team in the day-to-day operation of the department, including taking on additional duties as necessary to ensure the smooth running of the department.
  • Contribute to student engagement, promotion and communication activities and events e.g., careers/open evenings, notice boards
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver information, advice and guidance.
  • Accurately record information and data related to record keeping
  • Support projects and resources in relation to recruitment and Student Services
  • Act as first point of contact for learner concerns or welfare issues, giving information, advice and guidance, signposting and escalating as and when needed. This can be online, face to face or by phone.
  • Source and develop learner resources related to Student Services and recruitment, liaising with suppliers and partners as needed.
  • Maintain own CPD, keeping up to date with changes to best practise related to learner recruitment and Student Services.
  • Work closely with Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure information is shared and followed up on.

About you

This is a fantastic opportunity that would suit a strong communicator with proven ability to multi-task and achieve deadlines in a busy office environment. A high level of confidentiality is required for this role and we are looking for the right person to effectively communicate and encourage to our future apprentices.

We require the candidate to have minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent in Maths and English. We are also looking for someone who is a motivated with strong planning and organisational skills. Strong administrative and organisation skills with great attention to detail are preferred in this role.
