Job description

Job Description

Beyond the Streets charity delivers frontline support for women selling sex in the UK, driving positive change through training, research, an affiliate network and events. Taking a woman-centred approach, the role of Women’s Support Worker is to provide direct support and care co-ordination for women with complex needs who want support or to exit street-based prostitution. We are looking for people with experience of working with vulnerable adults; people who have a highly developed sense of self-awareness, independent thinking, and who can work in a gender and trauma informed way. Alongside this, we seek someone with energy, self-motivation, and a passion for the cause.

We have two full-time roles available, based at the Door of Hope project, East London, which fulfils the London Borough of Tower Hamlets council funded ‘Prostitution Support Programme’.

Beyond the Streets is a charity inspired by Christian values. This belief inspires us to work with acceptance, value and mutual respect for all. We promote a healthy work life balance and regularly reflect on our boundaries and our strategy for the year. We genuinely seek to work as a team and ensure that no one is ‘rescuing’ or working outside their allocated hours. You will be joining a growing team at Beyond the Streets. We currently have 16 members of staff, with a mix of full-time and part-time working patterns. The role will be based at our East London office.

Location: Tower Hamlets, East London

Hours: 35 hours per week, including outreach outside of office hours

Leave: 25 days, plus Bank Holidays (F.T.E)

Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 (includes London weighting – F.T.E)

Line Manager: Door of Hope Manager

Pension: 5% Employer Contribution, 3% Employee Contribution

Duration: 1x 2-year Fixed Term Contract (with possibility of contract extension thereafter), 1x 15-month maternity cover contract

Please complete the application form available on our website giving as much information as you can that is relevant, and return it to us along with the equal opportunities form (also on our website) to the recruitment email adress listed on our website when you click 'apply' via Charity Jobs.
