Refuse/Recycling Operative

We have a fantastic opportunity for six Refuse / Recycling Operatives at Bury Council. This is a full-time temporary role for the next 2 months, with the possibility of extension.

What is the role?

Bury Council are looking for six Refuse / Recycling Operatives to assist the Refuse teams in removal of waste within the borough of Bury. Usually working in a 3- or 4-person team, on the refuse vehicles in Bury.

What are your responsibilities?

• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Reliable and efficient
• Physically capable of carrying our repeated lifting of heavy weights.
• Awareness of health & safety issues
• Excellent people skills, as you will be speaking to the public other members of staff including managers.

What skills do you Need?

• Ideally have previous Refuse / Recycling Operative experience with a local authority.
• Must be physically fit and healthy, as you will be required to lift heavy items.
• Happy to work early / late shifts Monday to Friday
• Must possess a pair of safety boots.
