Regional Counsel – 3/6 months FTC

Taylor Root is working with an incredibly well-reputed business in the education sector. They’re looking to hire a Regional Counsel (Europe, Middle East & India) for an initial 3-6 month contract who can start ASAP.

Reporting into the Chief Legal Officer, this role requires someone who is energetic, pragmatic and commercial. You’ll be looking at region-specific projects from an operation and risk management perspective.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting on the expansion of the company’s portfolio. Leading and managing legal aspects of greenfield/brownfield development, construction and lease-related projects.
• Leading on post-acquisition integration and due diligence.
• Implementing tools/templates, training and know-how within different regions.
• Handling ongoing litigation.
• Liaising with external counsel when appropriate.

This is a broad role that requires someone coming from a corporate/corporate finance background who has worked on cross-border transactions. It would suit someone who’s had prior in-house experience, and who’s comfortable being within a fast-paced environment. You will need to be comfortable working to tight deadlines, and be someone who works to a consistently high standard.

Experience required:

• UK or common-law qualified solicitor with 5-8+ years’ experience
• Candidates need to have had in-house experience
• Experience working with senior management teams
• Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate with senior stakeholders
• Corporate or corporate finance experience required
• Real estate experience would be helpful
