We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housing Support Worker (Self-Employed) to join our team, working across Coventry, Nuneaton and Bedworth, As a Support Worker, you will provide assistance and support to individuals in emergency accommodation, helping them improve their quality of life and ensure the properties they live in are of the highest standard. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Duties:
- Provide practical support such as addressing travel issues, aiding in settling into accommodation, and resolving any immediate housing concerns.
- Ensure individuals have access to essential services, including healthcare, substance misuse assistance, and wellbeing services.
- Liaise with Local Authorities or placement teams.
- Complete and file risk assessments.
- Monitor and ensure that property repairs are promptly addressed.
- Facilitate timely reporting on visits, support plans, and session notes.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to individuals.
- Conduct regular property health and safety checks.
- Assist in cleaning and preparing properties between placements.
- Arrange transportation to appointments or community activities.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities and progress.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Travel will be between Coventry, Nuneaton and occasionally Tamworth
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals.
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes.
- Ability to follow support plans and instructions accurately.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
