What will I be Doing?

  • To prepare machine specifications to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with legislative requirements.
  • To compile specific budgets for new machine requirements.
  • To complie business case’s relevant to new technologies
  • To manage SUEZ R&R UK surplus machines and re-allocate as required.
  • To assist in the management of the machines to minimize total cost of ownership.
  • To actively investigate new technology and alternative fuels, manage trials and report back with recommendations.
  • To liaise with suppliers to ensure that there is a system of service/maintenance reports in place and that it is regularly updated.
  • Liaise and advise procurement regarding machine purchasing.
  • Ensure all equipment, when delivered, comes with the correct training and documents to comply with PUWER and LOLER regulations.
  • Regular inspections to be carried out on all equipment at intervals of between 6 and 12 months to ensure compliance with SUEZ standards, regulation, and legislation
  • Using the FMS (Tranman) manage all machines and ensure information is up to date and make recommendations to HOD for reallocation of assets, their disposal or contractual concerns.
  • To liaise with manufacturers over new technologies and machine options.
  • Produce reports to HOD based on telematics and the tendering teams as to the outcome of these trials.
  • To support senior management in the formulation and implementation of business strategy and improvement initiatives that support the goal of continuous improvement
  • Develop and deliver a training program to improve operating techniques to improve fuel efficiency and mitigate damage.

What are the Requirements?

  • Have a deep understanding of the waste industry and have a very good understanding of the equipment range we operate across SUEZ R&R UK to ensure we have the right machines, operating in the correct manner to ensure optimisation is at its highest range possible and in a safe manner. Have in-depth knowledge of regulation relating, but not limited to, PUWER, LOLER, environmental and H&S
  • Supervisory and managerial experience
  • Understanding of Plant Hire, Lease agreements and return conditions clauses
  • Ability & experience to review and interpret machine data via provided telematics and standard API’s
  • Ability and experience to carry out site surveys to access correct equipment for operations
  • Experience of auditing machine health and external service providers
