My client is the UK’s leading manufacturer of standard and bespoke furnaces & ovens for the laboratory & process markets. Their products enjoy a global reputation for quality & performance with more than 65% of sales derived from Export markets.
They currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced REGIONAL SALES MANAGER (NORTH).
Following the recent progression of one of the existing team and in conjunction with growth plans, they are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic individual who is interested in working for a market leader selling into academia, materials research, engineering, and process industries. The main customer base within the UK is biased toward blue chip and research companies especially nuclear and aerospace.
Reporting directly to the UK Sales Director, the role has two focus areas.
Firstly, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and developing customer relationships for current and new customers for all product lines in a defined region in the UK. You ll drive a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing demand, understanding customer needs, and identifying and delivering opportunities.
Secondly, you will be the Application Specialist responsible for developing and delivering the companies UK strategy for either Nuclear Applications or MIM / CIM / AM, Vacuum Furnace Systems in the UK. A background with experience in either of these technologies would be advantageous.
The role is home based, and you will be located within the region you are covering. The applicant must be prepared to travel for the job, including overnight trips for meetings to customer sites and to both manufacturing sites.
Primary responsibilities:
- Operate as the main point of contact for assigned customers within your region.
- Opportunity management using the Microsoft Dynamics CRM system.
- Assist in the preparation of quotes and submission of tender documents.
- Develop and maintain long-term commercial relationships with key accounts supported by the market strategy plan (MSP).
- Partner with customers and academic professionals to develop application notes and a presence in their application area.
- Arrange meetings with customers both on site and online to review technical specifications, customer requirements.
- Identify opportunities to grow business with existing and new customers in line with the application and region strategy.
- Ensure queries are resolved in a defined time frame
- On average, you will be out on the road 3 days per week with one home day and one office day.
- Collaborate with other sales teams within the business and colleagues to reach prospective customers and signpost other brands.
- Act as a customer representative within the business to ensure products and services are delivered to schedule.
- Exhibiting at trade shows, table tops and conferences, mainly UK.
Key skills and qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Scientific Studies Minimum of a BTEC HNC or equivalent in a practical discipline minimum requirement
- Experience in either:
- Nuclear industry.
- MIM / CIM / Additive Manufacturing.
- Vacuum Systems.
- A proven track record of achievement in a customer facing role 3 Years minimum
- Experience of using CRM would be beneficial, but full training can be given.
- Knowledge in laboratory products, industrial or both
- Driving is a core part of the role, typically 500+miles a week Hold a full clean driving license & a valid passport for occasional international travel.
