The Fostering Foundation is a small Independent Fostering Agency, with offices located in Kingswood (nr Bristol), Cullompton (nr Exeter) and Tavistock (nr Plymouth). The Fostering Foundation are excited to welcome a permanent, experienced, full-time qualified Registered Manager to join our team, a vacancy created via the retirement of the incumbent Registered Manager.
The position is offered on a full-time basis and the salary and benefits package offered is as follows:
- Salary: £60,000-£70,000 depending on experience
- 33 days annual leave including bank holidays. This increases with years of service and can go up to 38 days.
- Office closure (with a duty rota) between Christmas and New year, with no need to use annual leave allowance
- Flexible hybrid working from home with opportunity to work anywhere in England. An expectation to travel to the offices once or twice a month. Travel and overnight accommodation will be paid for by the company
- Participation in company pension scheme
- Covered by a critical illness company insurance policy
The principal responsibilities of this role include the following, a full job description will be provided to applicants:
- To maintain the agency’s high standards, in order to promote positive outcomes for children and young people, and to ensure that Social Work and Foster Care practice continue to ‘mirror’ Ofsted expectations
- Demonstrate a positive, solution focused, ‘can do’ attitude
- Serve as Registered Manager for the agency within the terms of Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards 2011 and all other related legislation and guidance such as Working Together 2018
- Ensure all Statutory reporting and recording requirements and functions of the agency are undertaken within the relevant legislative framework
- Devise, implement and monitor service development plans, to ensure continued improvement and development of service. Report back progress to the Board of Directors
- Ensure that safeguarding, placing and supporting vulnerable children remain the core objectives of the agency
- Providing leadership which ensures staff are motivated to provide an effective service which values diversity and promotes the personal development of its staff whilst ensuring there is a clear vision and strategic direction for the organization
The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:
- An appropriate social work qualification Degree/DipSW/CQSW
- Level 4 or 5 qualification in Management and Leadership
- Current registration with SWE
- A minimum of five years experience in family placements and 5 years working in a supervisory role. This experience can be concurrent.
- Thorough knowledge of Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards 2011
- Good standard of IT skills
- Good grasp of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of Child Protection and associated legislation
- Knowledge of foster care and trauma experienced by children in care
- Full driving license and use of a car
- Excellent communication skills
- Right to live and work in the UK
