We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Medicine for the Elderly speciality in Tay Ward (Elderly Rehabilitation for Perth City) at Perth Royal Infirmary.

Do you have a keen interest in elderly care and rehabilitation, and enabling patients to regain as much independence as possible? Do you want to work closely with a specialist multi-disciplinary team to promote patient centred care in a supportive environment?

You will have the opportunity for CPD learning and would be supported to be involved in current improvement projects. There is an opportunity for clinical skills training for intravenous drug administration, venepuncture and cannulation as well as other skills.

Tay Ward – You will be part of a Multidisciplinary Team who are committed to providing rehabilitation which is patient centred. This unit is supported by specialist MFE consultants and MFE research fellows. There is a ward rehab area, outdoor garden and patient centred focus on care delivery.

Hours of work are: 17 hours per week – currently working a 12-hour shift pattern.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
