PACT (Police and Crisis Team) is a partnership between Alberta Health Services (AHS) and the Wood Buffalo RCMP that responds to situations involving individuals experiencing a mental health, addictions, or psycho-social crisis. PACT (Police and Crisis Team) provides a response to incidents in the RMWB involving individuals and families experiencing mental health concerns, addiction or psychosocial crisis when there is a risk to themselves and/or public. The RPN is able to arrange urgent psychiatric assessments and referrals as needed. As well as provide consultation and support to various professionals or responding officers regarding the Mental Health Act of Alberta. The main goals are to divert individuals who are in crisis with mental illness and addiction issues, from the justice system and hospital emergency departments, assess and stabilize individuals in crisis within the community and to connect individuals with resources and supports. The RPN will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Health Services currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required QualificationsMinimum 2 years Addiction and Mental Health experience. Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license as work-related travel.
Preferred QualificationsPreference given to direct crisis experience. Ability to ambulate, climb stairs, and move quickly without limitations in a variety of environments. Extensive knowledge of the resources of Addiction and Mental Health and the community. Formal clinical training in triage, intervention, stabilization and case management skills, preferably in a community setting.
