The Marie Curie Rapid Response Service delivers rapid and flexible out of hours nursing care and support for patients with a life limiting illness and their carers within the community, primarily for our Virtual Ward service and within care homes in Lothian. We aim to prevent inappropriate admission to hospital and the choice for the patient of preferred place of care.

What we are looking for:
- Experience of working in a palliative/end of life care setting
- Ability to support junior colleagues learning within the workplace.
- Experience of working in a community setting is desirable.
- Level 1 Registration and able to demonstrate continued professional development.
- Person centred with the ability to contribute to shared decision making within the team.
- Licence allowing you to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle that can be insured for business use is essential.
As a Registered nurse you will provide support and assessment to patients with complex palliative care needs. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team but should also be able to work off your own initiative. You will be required to communicate with patients, and the people important to them, on the plans of care and provide daily updates on any changes and plan of care for that day.
