Job description

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust are looking for a Band 4 Nursing Associate to join our team on the Acute Medical Assessment Unit.
The Department is a high paced, diverse unit consisting of 3 areas; Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit, 12 Bedded Acute Decisions Unit and 30 bedded Short Stay Ward.
We care for patients with a range of medical conditions and strive to deliver high quality nursing care based on current evidence, in a fast dynamic environment. We work closely with our Medical colleagues and MDT in order to meet the increasing demands of the service whilst retaining our commitment to patient centred care.
The successful candidate will have experience working in an acute care environment as a student or as a qualified Nursing Associate. You will be joining a multidisciplinary team of skilled and highly motivated staff who provide high quality care.
We are willing to accept applications from students close to qualification as well as trained staff. We offer a thorough preceptorship programme and a supernumerary period which will give you time to learn the skills required to care for our patients.
The Nursing Associate has a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centred care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings. The Nursing Associate works independently under the leadership of registered nurses,working within the sphere of nursing and care and within all aspects of the nursing process.
Nursing associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a Nursing Associate and will work to a nationally recognised code of conduct.
The following criteria identify the core components of the roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of Nursing Associates. They identify what Nursing Associates can contribute to the health and wellbeing of patients and service users, and apply across all health and care settings. Integral to all of these is the ability to communicate effectively, with sensitivity and compassion, and to manage relationships with people, making reasonable adjustments where necessary.
