Job description

Registered Veterinary Nurse
Join Our Caring Team at Ivybank Vets, Ayrshire
Earn up to £30,000 based on experience, plus fantastic benefits.

Calling all passionate Veterinary Nurses! If you thrive on the blend of medical and surgical cases that a bustling general practice brings, we have the perfect opportunity for you at Ivybank Vets, Kilmarnock. Ayrshire

An Engaging Nursing Experience

Picture your days spent across 2 of our 4 vibrant branches (Irvine, Kilmarnock, Kilwinning and West Kilbride) each of which has its own character. You'll collaborate with fellow nurses, sometimes as a dynamic duo and other times as the dedicated nursing presence alongside our skilled veterinarians and receptionists. And rest assured, even on your solo days, nurse support is just a phone call away from our sister branches.

The role is a mix of surgical nursing (anaesthetics and kennel management for day surgical patients and hospitalised patients) and nurse consultations. Our nurses perform 2nd vaccinations, post op checks, nurse clinics, etc.

Craft Your Perfect Work-Life balance with Us

Our full-time roster embraces 40 hours a week, spanning 4 weekdays with the added touch of and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, giving a full weekday off. We are also very open to part-time candidates and can chat about custom rota options during your interview.  We have strong relationship with our local Vets Now Team who provide our out-of-hours care.

Adventure and Opportunity Awaits

Nestled along the scenic west coast of Ayrshire, our 4 welcoming clinics blend the charms of countryside and beaches with proximity to Glasgow and good transport links. Train accessibility enriches the experience, making it an easy jaunt.

Our spirited team, featuring seasoned professionals who've grown with us, works in tandem to deliver top-tier care to our clients and their beloved pets. Our reputation stands tall, attests to our high standards in medical and surgical first opinion practice.

The People and Tools to let You Shine

As you venture into our clinics, you'll discover well-equipped consulting, operating, and laboratory setups at each site and radiography and ultrasound at our larger locations. Our diverse nurse line-up spans the journey from SVN to accomplished professionals with stints in referral settings or long-standing general practice careers.

Our close-knit community of 11 Vets, 7 RVNs, 1 SVN, 4 ACAs, dedicated receptionists, and 2 practice managers emanates an air of camaraderie. A plethora of interests keeps us vibrant – from ultrasound and exotics to wildlife and ECC. One of our team even covers the local wildlife centre, treating hedgehogs to seals.

Join us if you're a qualified RVN, comfortable with first opinion medical and surgical care, with a love of the mix and unpredictability of general practice where 2 days are never the same.
