Role: Regulatory Affairs Specialist

location: Birmingham (Hybrid)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

The Advocate Group is proud to represent a leading player in the Sports Nutrition industry who are expanding their business on a global scale. As a result, we are recruiting a number of exciting positions within the product team to support ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with R&D to check and approve product specification. Keeping specifications and product label reports up to date and communicating with a wider team in case of any changes.
  • Provide regulatory support to the business, building the necessary knowledge and procedures related to global food Regulatory Affairs. Ability to support export territories under rapid expansion, with a primary focus on EU Regulation.
  • Projects involving solving problems in relation to the interpretation of current legislation across Europe and key export markets to set up the foundations for successful trading. • Own and Develop product label report (primary, secondary, and tertiary) for label creation and Supporting design team with artwork content checks and amends.
  • Providing regulatory approval of artwork content, gaining customer and Regulatory Manager approval for final artwork submissions.
  • Assisting regulatory manager to provide advice and guidance to the business units on food regulatory requirements related to both mandatory and voluntary information on labels, including the use of health and nutrition claims across the full Grenade business.
  • Assisting regulatory manager to anticipate regulatory business risks and opportunities, and propose and implement business solutions in response to regulatory changes.

Person Specification

  • Have a qualification in food-related subjects such as food science or food chemistry.
  • At least one year’s experience in EU food law, especially food labelling and food additives.
  • Proven success in Product Compliance for UK and International markets.
  • Extremely familiar with reviewing product specification.
  • Able to work collaboratively across the business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to network effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to solve problems, make decisions and offer solutions to wider business.
  • Able to operate independently, and as part of a team.
  • Strong IT skills and specifically competent in Excel
  • Excellent communication skills to foster great working relationships with key customers.
  • High levels of accuracy in work and a methodical approach.
