Permanent contract | Starting salary £29,269 to £31,364 per annum (Scale G) increasing to £32,076 to £33,945 per annum (Scale H) when qualified | 37 hours per week | Vauxhall Centre

Apprenticeship vision Rehabilitation Officer vacancy with NCC sensory support unit. Grade G to start.

The position of vision Rehabilitation Officer is a specialist role working with blind or partially sighted people to undertake activities within the home , and to get around in the community safely.   There are also several apps, low vision aids and adaptations you will be providing and showing how they are used.

The apprenticeship is a 2-year course run by Birmingham University although you will be based in Norfolk and require occasional visits to Birmingham which are all included in the apprenticeship. 

The successful candidate will be supported by a experienced team of vision rehabilitation workers and have access to the rehabilitation workers professional network which is the national registration and support services for the profession.

Applicants ideally should be able to study at a good educational standard and have had some experience of working with vulnerable people or in social care settings.  You will need excellent communication skills and patience to deliver the information and training to people who may not have any sight.
