A bit about us…

We are a team of RCA and Plant and Equipment Surveyors that sit within a wider department of colleagues split between consultancy based or project based service lines. Many of the wider team RCA team are from quantity surveying backgrounds, but equally there is a good balance of experience from other backgrounds too. Over the last number of years, we have enjoyed unrivalled growth as a team in terms of turnover and also in terms of our head-count. The work we do…

While the team is purely dedicated to RCAs, there is significant variety through the different types of clients we work for and the many industrial and commercial sectors and locations that we cover.

Clients - We are retained by hundreds of different clients ranging from small independent owner occupiers to large pan-European property investors, developers and multi-national corporate entities.

Industrial & Commercial Sectors - We act for occupiers clients in a variety of sectors such as, but not limited to:

Automotive (component manufacturing and assembly)

Education (university campuses and schools)

Engineering (from small independents to large scale complexes)

Food & Beverage (a variety of food and drink producers)

Healthcare (hospital campuses, clinics and surgeries)

Hotels (from budget hotel chains to boutique luxury hotels)

Leisure (pubs, restaurants, cinemas, leisure parks, stadia etc.)

Manufacturing (a variety of domestic and commercial product manufacturers)

Pharmaceutical (large multi-national entities)

Many of the properties that the wider team assess are from the core sectors of:

Data Centres (single co-location data centres to large purpose-built data centre portfolios)

Industrial & Logistics (we work for most of the largest I&L investors and developers)

Offices (everything from landmark city centre office developments to out-of-town business parks)

Residential and student accommodation (from individual homes for high net worth individuals to high rise residential towers)

Retail (high street retail, large shopping centres, retail parks & designer outlets)

Locations - We act for clients in locations predominately around the UK and EMEA, but we are not restricted to such and have undertaken assignments in many other countries around the globe.

Role Purpose

Due to the growth of our specialist business, we are seeking to recruit an experienced person for a position at Associate Director level. The successful candidate will be based in our London office within the Reinstatement Cost Assessment (RCA) team, part of the Building Consultancy department. The UK Investor team predominantly works for Investor clients with portfolios of properties located across the UK. Sometimes within managements of jobs there is a need to allocated resources across our regional team and to liaise with the relevant stakeholders.

The role involves working closely with CBRE colleagues within BC & PJM and Property management teams throughout the UK and EMEA. The work will involve travel across the UK & internationally, as required.

The role involves ensuring that a best in class product is delivered to clients. The process involves QA on reports created by surveyors and senior surveyors within the Investor team and undertaking RCA’s on assets within various sectors.

We have a number of small to medium portfolios that need managing from instruction stage to the end of client delivery.

In due course it is anticipated the team will grow and newer members of the team will need training in how to do RCA’s and complete them to a high standard.

The role provides great promotion and career development opportunities.

The position involves business development responsibilities and includes an expectation to seek out opportunities, generate revenue and promote growth for the business unit. The candidate should be proficient in producing bidding/marketing material, proposal and valuation reports, Presentations both within CBRE and to clients, and possess good communication skills.

Personal specification or requirements

A solid experience within the property industry, ideally on cost estimating or quantity surveying.

RICS qualification is not essential.

Other qualifications in business, finance, accounting, or economics would be of interest but are optional

Proficient IT skills

Drivers licence essential



Responsibilities of the role

Undertake assessments for insurance purposes in line with RICS guidelines on RCA’s.

Manage all aspects of the assessment process from initial engagement, site inspections, undertake a measurement exercise, undertake calculations and assessment, preparation and quality control through to report generation and submission, including client and case administration.

Conduct assessments independently or as part of a team.

Ensure the highest quality product is provided to the client within agreed timescales

Anticipate and react to client needs and requirements.

Cultivate and develop strong relationships with both internal and external clients and instil confidence in the service provided. Our wider department
