Relationship DirectorProperty Finance
The business:
A growing specialist lender with a 120–year track record of working closely with property developers and investors to facilitate both the construction and refinancing of residential, mixed–use and commercial property, purpose–built student accommodation, care homes and retirement living projects, focusing on transaction sizes of GBP10m plus.
Purpose of the role:
To proactively originate new business within risk and return parameters and to manage a portfolio of loans effectively to achieve the performance and other targets set with reference to the Property Finance team's suite of KPIs. Working as part of a team to deliver the business' goals and supporting brand awareness as a specialist real estate lender across UK & Europe.
Key responsibilities:
Business Origination – grow a portfolio of new to business clients and generate business from existing clients to achieve and exceed goals.Relationship Management – manage a book of property loans ensuring (with support) that all annual reviews and quarterly covenant monitoring is delivered in a timely and accurate fashion.Returns – generate returns that provide a sensible risk reward profile with a mix of income lines to deliver profits in line with targets.Brand Awareness – using existing and new contact networks to actively promote the brand through a variety of channels including attending in person industry related events.Risk Management – demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of credit policy with an ability to identify and manage risks appropriately for both new and existing loans, together with all AML, operational, conduct, data protection, IT and other related risks.Communication and Presentation – to be able to interact with customers, colleagues and professionals using a multitude of communication and presentation methods.Negotiation – be able to apply negotiation skills to the role or origination and relationship management, influencing both internal and external stakeholders appropriately.Management – potentially have line management responsibilities relating to more junior members of the team with a need to help encourage and develop the talent of the future. Experience and Qualifications:
University degree and / or other relevant professional qualifications or experienced gained from time working in the real estate finance market.Proven experience in UK real estate finance, ideally with a track record of originating and negotiating loan terms on new and existing loans.Broad and deep knowledge of the UK real estate market.Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills with ability to interact and influence Executive level stakeholders.Experience in managing and motivating other staff members.Proven experience of an ability to work as part of a team with strong interpersonal skills.Demonstrable track record of being a self–motivated individual with a can–do attitude.
