You will be joining an organisation who specialise in the design, development, manufacture and distribution of novel, high performance tissue-healing technologies, including advanced wound care products, surgical dressings, and medical grade materials as well as medical adhesives and sutures for closing and sealing tissue.

Overview

My client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Reliability Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of all medical devices, contributing to the development and maintenance of world-class products that positively impact patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct reliability testing on medical devices, including wound care products and sealants.
  • Analyze test data to identify potential failure modes and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability considerations are integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement reliability plans for new product development projects.
  • Conduct FMEA to identify and prioritize potential failure modes, assessing their impact on product performance and patient safety.
  • Investigate and analyze field failures, conducting root cause analysis to identify underlying issues.
  • Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Utilize statistical methods to analyze reliability data and predict product performance.
  • Implement statistical process controls to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare detailed reliability reports, documenting test methods, results, and recommendations.
  • Communicate findings to relevant stakeholders, including engineering teams and management.
  • Ensure that reliability activities comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Support regulatory submissions by providing relevant reliability documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in product reliability through feedback mechanisms and analysis of field performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). Advanced degree (MS or PhD) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in Reliability Engineering, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of reliability testing methods, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for medical devices (FDA, ISO 13485) is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
