Llamau is now working in Powys (Brecon, Llandrindod Wells and Newtown) providing supported housing for young people aged 16+.
The supported environments in Newtown & Llandrindod Wells are now both up and running. We are looking for Relief staff to assist the Team in providing essential cover across what is a large geographical area.

As a Relief Worker, you could be working in Young People’s Services and/or Domestic Abuse & Gender Specific Services.
A relief role means you can work around your existing commitments whilst gaining experience of working with the amazing people we support, developing your skills in one or many of our psychologically informed supported housing environments?
Relief can be a great way of finding out if you have what it takes to make a difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable & socially marginalised people in Wales.

The majority of our supported environments require lone working, don’t worry though, we don’t just throw you in at the deep end!
Your relief induction is tailored with a Project Manager to ensure you have the skills & confidence to successfully lone work, including relevant training & experiences into the service and project where you would be working.
Your role would involve:
- Maintaining the safety & security of the project & the people living there; ensuring the expected standards of maintenance & cleanliness are met.
- Opportunities to engage, build professional, trusting & respectful relationships with the people we support.
- Excellent communication amongst the team & relevant partner agencies, recording & reporting all work as per procedure.
- Advocating on behalf of the people we support with statutory services, including Social Services, Health & Emergency Services.
Please Note
Shifts are offered to both existing staff & relief workers, some shifts are booked slightly in advance (existing vacancies, holidays), whilst others are for immediate cover purposes (sickness/emergencies).
Day shifts are normally 9.30-5pm, you will be paid an hourly rate of £11.55
Sleep - Over shifts are normally 4.45pm - 9.45am, you will be paid £155.70 per shift
A 15 minute hand-over period is included for staff cross-over.

30 years ago Llamau was founded to provide homeless teenagers with a safe place to stay. Since then, we have supported over 67,000 young people, women and their children who are either homeless or facing homelessness.
Many people think the job of a homelessness charity will be to provide accommodation - a safe place to stay. But it is very clear to us that for most people who are facing homelessness, their problems are far more complex than a lack of permanent shelter.
