Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Relief Support Workers to join our incredible team in Horwich.
As a Relief Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
This is a supported living service, supporting 2 males and one female with various needs. We support with a range of activities from social clubs to volunteer jobs. We support on physiotherapy lead activities, swim, gym sessions, weekly bike rides, watching Bolton wanderers, bowling, cinema, garden centres, bingo and many more weekly activities.
You will be providing support with household duties from cooking and cleaning to finding cost effective utilities providers, they need support with their finances, seeing family and maintaining friendships. Medication administration, medical appointments and reviews, personal care. General day to day living.
It's a very active house so the candidate would need a good amount of energy to meet the needs of the service and the people we support.
What we're looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
This role requires you to be a driver due to location and lack of public transport.
Contract options:
- Relief - flexible hours based on availability
Shift times:
All our services are 24hrs / 7 days a week care.
- Days: Between 07:00-10:00 AND
- Waking Nights/sleep-ins: 10:00-07:00
