The Salvation Army in Edinburgh provides support for people who are experiencing homelessness and have multiple and complex needs. Our role is to provide a safe place to stay and access support. The service delivery model is rooted in the harm reduction approach, based on trauma informed practice, strength based and person-centred approaches.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Relief Night Welcome Worker (known internally within The Salvation Army as Night Concierge) to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
The ability to form positive, supportive and motivating relationships.
To engage with residents in a positive, motivating attitude
Ensuring clients are signed in and out of service
Manage queries, phone calls and visitors to service
Record messages and update logs
Manage enquiries relating to available accommodation and facilitating access to emergency accommodation if required
Support resident induction and welcome to the service
Work with enthusiasm and compassion towards supporting homeless individuals to achieve focussed and positive life outcomes
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
Excellent customer service skills
Experience of managing a busy front office environment including dealing with telephone and face to face enquiries
Excellent planning, organising and time management skills
Skills in IT use including Microsoft
Ability to work within the ethos of The Salvation Army with regard to delivering services to vulnerable people without discrimination
