The Role: As a Religious Studies Teacher, you will play a vital role in engaging and challenging students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. From teaching the core tenets of major world religions to facilitating discussions on contemporary ethical issues, you will deliver dynamic lessons that encourage reflection and dialogue. Whether it's exploring sacred texts, examining religious rituals, or analysing historical events, you will inspire students to develop a deeper understanding of the complexities of human belief systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote understanding and appreciation of religious diversity.
- Facilitate meaningful discussions and debates on moral, ethical, and philosophical questions.
- Provide guidance and support to students as they navigate complex religious concepts and texts.
- Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and supported.
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Religious Studies themes into cross-curricular projects and activities.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Relevant degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching Religious Studies at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of major world religions and their cultural and historical contexts.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
