A leading Tunbridge Wells company are actively seeking a dedicated individual with NCTJ or equivalent journalism training, ideally backed by an English/Media or related degree.
About the Role:
As a vital member of this exceptional team, you'll have the opportunity to cover a multitude of news topics spanning various areas within our local community. They're looking for someone who embodies curiosity, self-motivation, and organisational prowess—a true news enthusiast eager to source and chase multiple stories!
Key Requirements:
* Strong news writing skills and impeccable grammar are essential, along with the ability to localise national news stories.
* Passionate, knowledgeable, and driven to excel in the field of journalism.
* Developing an extensive network of contacts and gaining profound insight into local business, political, hospitality, cultural, and retail communities.
* Working efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining flexibility and adaptability.
* A solid understanding of Media Law is a must, and owning a car is required for this role.
Your Responsibilities:
* Seek, investigate, and craft compelling news stories while upholding high journalistic standards and meticulous note-taking.
* Write engaging content across a spectrum of topics and contribute innovative ideas for investigative campaigns and feature pieces.
Location: Tunbridge Wells
Salary: £26,000
