Location: Leeds

Salary: GBP39,000 - GBP43,000 per annum + Bonus (negotiated on experience)

Hours of work: 8.00am 5.00pm Monday Friday (flexible to circumstances)

Our client is a leading manufacturer of stainless steel structural components and products for the construction industry. Trusted and respected, they advise, design and manufacture industry approved products which comply with Eurocode, NHBC and BBA requirements.

A new and exciting opportunity for a Research and Development Engineer has become available within their prestigious Technical Department. Engineers are renowned for their technical knowledge, customer service and excellent turnaround times.

Main Purpose of Job:

Develop and implement new products into the business.

Optimise current products to improve performance, reduce material and minimise cost.

Develop systems and processes to streamline productivity, reduce errors and improve accuracy.

Responsible to:

Head of Research and Development

Main Tasks of Job:

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to see potential development opportunities.
• Explore new markets for product development, whether this is through existing product or a new product / system.
• Work closely with all departments within the business to ensure that all product implementations work.
• Oversee any external product testing and product approvals.
• Work on solo / team projects.
• Contribute / engage within team meetings.
• Monitor current / future trends within the industry.
