Research Assistant
The post will be held in the Environmental Modelling Group in the School of Biological Science. Research within the School of Biological Sciences has a broad cross-cutting theme of understanding the fundamental biological consequences of environmental change. Our research incorporates theoretical, empirical and experimental studies on plants, animals and microbes, and spans from gene to global scales, from the deep ocean to high altitude, and from the Arctic to Antarctic. The School comprises approximately 50 academic staff, 45 postdoctoral researchers, 150 postgraduate research students and five independent research fellows. Current active research grant holdings total over £25M secured from government, non-governmental organisation, industrial and charitable sources. The Environmental Modelling Group includes 17 members of staff and over 1202 PhD students. The group specialises in developing modelling tools that can be used to solve environmental problems, and advise policy makers, foresters and farmers.

Salary will be at Grade 5, £31,396 per annum, pro rata based on 54.79% FTE, actual salary £17,201.87. This is a fixed term post until 15 May 2024.
