Exciting opportunity for a collaborative and detail-orientated Research Assistant, to join a well-known charity for 12 months (maternity leave cover). You will be responsible for supporting and managing the research funding and grants.
Reporting to the director of research operations, as Research Assistant you will play a pivotal role in supporting the charity’s research grants functions. You will also work with the project team, undertaking the development and implementation of a new grants management platform.
You will be an experienced and organised administrator, with good planning skills and the ability to communicate and build relationships. You will demonstrate excellent time management and be able to work independently to deliver agreed plans and meet deadlines. You will be a proficient user of the Microsoft suite and have the ability to easily learn how to use systems. The ideal candidate will have a scientific background or have worked for a medical research charity.
As Research Assistant, your key responsibilities include:
- supporting with the administration and stakeholder management of grant applications, reviews and awards.
- updating the grants management database
- managing applications
- organising events and conferences, attending when necessary
- providing timely grant progress reports and research portfolio data for various teams
Flexible, hybrid working, with a maximum of 2 days per week in their Peterborough based office. Part-time/4 day working week option available.
